Lomas del Lucumo

En el distrito de Pachacamac, a treinta y cuatro kilómetros al sur de Lima, se encuentran las Lomas del Lúcumo. Microclima de lomas con variada vegetación y fauna silvestre, originada por una combinación de factores climáticos propios de la costa; como la neblina provocada por las aguas frías de la corriente peruana que impulsada por los vientos Alisios, humedece el desierto favorecido por afloramientos rocosos que al entrar en contacto con la niebla, generan agua que discurre hacia los suelos incrementando su humedad. Estos fenómenos se presentan normalmente en la estación húmeda, entre Julio y Octubre, temporada en la que el verdor renace, el tabaquillo y la flor de amancae florecen, la tara, el lúcumo y los mitos, o papayas silvestres, entregan sus frutos y los caracoles e insectos como el palo-palo se reproducen.

(In the district of Pachacamac, thirty four kilometers to the south of Lima, are the Hills of the Lúcumo. Hill microclimate with varied vegetation and wild fauna, originated by a combination of coast climatic factors; as the fog caused by the cold waters of the Peruvian current that impelled by the Trade Winds, moistens the desert favored by rocky outcrops that when making contact with the fog, generate water that runs towards the land increasing its humidity. These phenomena appear normally in the humid station, between July and October, season in which the greenery appears again, the wild tobacco and the amancae flower blooms, the tara, lúcumo and the myths, or wild papayas, gives their fruits and the snails and insects as the “palo-palo” reproduces.)

Hogar de vizcachas, zorros, diversas aves y antiguos pobladores que dejaron sus pinturas rupestres, las Lomas del Lúcumo son mantenidas por los habitantes del Poblado Rural de Quebrada Verde quienes se encargan de su conservación y promueven el circuito eco turístico Las Lomas del Lúcumo; formado por senderos naturales , socavones de minas abandonadas, farallones y zonas de campamentos donde aun se realizan ceremonias místicas.

Este año se tiene programada la apertura de temporada el día once de Agosto en donde se podrá disfrutar de una feria gastronómica y venta de productos artesanales propios de la zona.

Pacasmayo

A poco más de cien kilómetros al norte de Trujillo esta Pacasmayo, un puerto abierto en 1775 por los españoles para embarcar minerales y tabaco producido en Ecuador, Jaén y Tumbes. Su largo muelle fue construido entre 1872 y 1878 y en la actualidad sólo sirve para la pesca artesanal. Hoy convertido en balneario es uno de los mejores lugares para correr olas. La estación del antiguo ferrocarril, el faro, el malecón, sus concurridas playas y la comida a base de pescado son sus principales atractivos.
(Little more than one hundred kilometers to the north of Trujillo is Pacasmayo, a port opened in 1775 by the Spaniards to embark minerals and tobacco produced in Ecuador, Jaén and Tumbes. Its long pier was constructed between 1872 and 1878 and at the present time is only used for the artisan fishing. Today turned as beach resort it is one of the best places for surfing.
